Musician and Writer

Benjamin James Robinson spent his childhood years in Greenville, South Carolina before moving to Sydney, Australia at age five. He subsequently moved to Düsseldorf, Germany where he joined the Düsseldorf Youth Choir and began learning the guitar. The school Robinson attended offered opportunities to sing in a jazz choir, play guitar in a blues big band, play in a pit band and take composition classes. In the summer of 2016 Ben moved back to his hometown to attend the Greenville Fine Arts Center which introduced him to the jazz guitar, performing in various jazz combos and observing masterclasses with artists such as Branford Marsalis and Chuck Loeb.

Robinson received his Bachelor of Music in 2022 from Anderson University while working through college as recording engineer for Greer Castle Recording Room. Aside from performing alongside jazz, commercial music and faculty ensembles he also gigged with local songwriters. Additionally Robinson was featured in the 2021 Pelzer Mill Town Players Classic Country Review as well as the 2022 Anderson Soiree.

Shortly before graduation Robinson took on two positions teaching lessons for Sing and Play Upstate and Sounds of Carolina in his college town of Anderson, SC for eight months before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in December of 2022. After moving to Music City Robinson quickly broke into the classic country music circles playing notable venues and community events. He currently maintains his regular gigs on Broadway and teaches while always looking for more time to write and record.
